Medical Biller Overcharged Almost $500
By Woodrow Wilcox
On February 20, 2025, I wrote a letter to a medical firm that overcharged our client from Valparaiso, Indiana.
With some editing to protect privacy, here is the letter that I sent to the medical firm.
Our client sent to our firm a bill from your firm for our review. The bill is dated 01/10/2025 and seeks a balance of $504 on Account Number XXXXXXXXX for services rendered on 11/27/24.
I checked the MEDICARE SUMMARY NOTICE that the client got from Medicare with this bill that you sent. THE FIGURES DON’T MATCH. So, I know there is a problem.
Your bill states that you billed Medicare for an original charge of $7,000 from Dr. XXXXXXX and a balance of $504. But the Medicare Summary Notice states that you charged for Dr. XXXXXXX only an original charge of $3,294.40 which resulted in a balance of only $46.01. Check Claim # 18-XXXXX-XXX-XXX.
Please, explain this discrepancy in writing to our client. He will share your explanation with me. Do not attempt to collect a balance until the discrepancies of this bill are explained and corrected.
The help that I am giving the client is FREE OF CHARGE. This insurance agency helps all clients with similar medical bill problems without charge to demonstrate to our clients that we appreciate their business and seek to treat them well all the time.
Note: Woodrow Wilcox is the senior medical bill case worker at Senior Care Insurance Services in Merrillville, Indiana. He has saved clients of that firm over three million dollars by fighting mistakes and fraud in the Medicare system. Also, Wilcox wrote the book SOLVING MEDICARE PROBLEM$ which can be ordered from book stores or online.
